Your Dental Insurance

The benefits provided by your dental insurance are determined by negotiations between your employer and the insurance company. This office has no say in the process. Actual benefits often have no correlation to your specific dental needs.

The dental treatment we recommend is based on what is best for you.

We are happy to file dental claims on your behalf, and as a courtesy allow your insurance carrier(s) to send benefits directly to our office. However, this does not make us responsible for any limitations, exclusions, or other potential deficiencies of your dental insurance.

Our office deals with literally, hundreds of insurance plans. Every plan is unique. Some employers have multiple plans with changes in benefits regularly. It is impossible for us to know the details for each patient’s plan.

For major treatment, such as crowns, bridges, root canals, and dentures we can file a pre-treatment estimate with your insurance carrier. This will provide a written estimate, outlining the coverage of your plan. Routine or “basic” treatment such as cleanings, fillings, extractions, and x-rays do not require such estimates, and most insurance companies will not process them.

Upon request, we can print a “treatment plan” detailing all costs for your dental care. This plan will include insurance procedure codes so that you can contact your carrier to determine your benefits.
